Ice Spice took the stage at Sunday's BET Awards to play a medley of tracks off her debut EP Like..?, for what was one of the best performances of the night.
The rising Bronx rapper's performance doubled as a tribute to her hometown borough, as she busted out spirited renditions of "Munch," "Princess Diana," and "In Ha Mood" alongside a backdrop of a basketball court, a bodega, and a subway platform.
However, Ice Spice's BET Awards debut was overshadowed by an alleged incident involving her and City Girls' JT, who was captured tossing her phone at Lil Uzi Vert over what some people believed was a misunderstanding over the Bronx rapper.
Despite the speculation, sources close to JT told TMZ Hip Hop the interaction between JT and Uzi had nothing to do with the Bronx rapper, and added that the City Girls rapper "loves" Spice.
Since releasing “Munch” last August, Ice Spice has been on a tear, dropping a string of hit singles including "Bikini Bottom" and "Princess Diana," both of which appeared on her EP Like..?. Spice has continued her momentum in 2023, appearing alongside Taylor Swift on the pop star's "Karma (Remix)," and joining forces with Nicki Minaj on her recent one-off single "Barbie World."
Back in January, Spice teased her forthcoming full-length offering in an interview with Ebro Darden.
“Most likely this year, since I’m going to have 10 songs, something like that or whatever,” she told Darden about her official studio debut. “[It’s] definitely going to be different vibes in there, for sure. I don’t want to talk too much on it because...you feel me? But gotta keep the secret sauce a secret.”
