On Thursday night, 21 Savage dropped his sophomore solo studio album i am > i was. The project, which was stacked with features from Childish GambinoOffset, and Schoolboy Q, also included a verse from J. Cole on the opening track "a lot."

Cole took the opportunity to shout out 6ix9ine and to bring attention to the Brooklyn rapper's current legal predicament. 6ix9ine is currently incarcerated as he awaits trial on racketeering and gun charges. The rapper's trial is scheduled to start on Sept. 4, 2019. He faces up to life in prison.

Check out J. Cole's lines about 6ix9ine below.

Pray for Tekashi, they want him to rot
I'm picturing him inside a cell on a cot
Flaunting on how he made it to the top
Wondering if it was worth it or not

Fan seemed split about Cole's lines about the jailed rapper on social media.

Check out some early reactions below.

On the same track, Cole also makes mention of NBA players Dennis Smith Jr. and Markelle Fultz. Check it out below.

I pray for Markelle cause they fucked up his shot
Just want you to know that you got it my nigga
Though I never met you, I know that you special and that the Lord blessed you
Don’t doubt it my nigga
Dennis Smith Jr., stay solid my nigga
I'm on a tangent, not how I planned it
