Nia Long is seeking custody of her 11-year-old son, Kez, from Ime Udoka.

According to reporting by TMZ, Long, 52, alleged in a court filing in Los Angeles that Udoka, 46, has not been providing adequate support for their child. The actress is requesting both primary legal and physical custody while also allowing the NBA head coach reasonable visitation rights "consistent with the child's best interest."

The former couple were together for 13 years but broke up in late 2022 when allegations of Udoka's affair with a female team staffer emerged during his time coaching the Boston Celtics. Long expressed her heartbreak over the scandal at the time, revealing that the scandal had been "devastating" for their son.

“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” Long said last December. “It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women—I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”

In April, it was announced that Udoka would become head coach of the Houston Rockets after he was dismissed from the Celtics.
