Barack Obama Shares Favorite Songs of 2019 List f/ DaBaby, Young Thug, J. Cole, Frank Ocean, and More

After sharing his favorite movies and books of 2019, former President Barack Obama has revealed his list of favorite songs from this year.

After sharing his favorite movies and books of 2019, former President Barack Obama has revealed his list of favorite songs this year.

Included in his impressive list is everyone from DaBaby and J. Cole to Bruce Springsteen and Dominic Fike. "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus appears, as does "In My Room" from Frank Ocean. As with his previous lists, the variety of genres stretches from rock to hip-hop and everything in between. Young Thug, Kaytranada, the National, Burna Boy, Alicia Keys, Sharon Van Etten, Solange, Mustard featuring Migos, Rosalia, Snoh Aalegra, and Beyoncé also made the list.

"From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my favourite songs of the year," he wrote on Twitter. "If you're looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there's a track or two in here that does the trick."

Among the first to thank Obama for their inclusion on the list was Lizzo, who had her song "Juice" make an appearance. "I love you so much Mr. Obama," she wrote. "Thanks for assisting me with my morning cry."

Obama's favorite movies of 2019 list featured American Factory, the first film from his and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground Productions. Other favorites included BooksmartThe IrishmanParasiteMarriage Story, and Little Women. He also gave a shoutout to three TV shows he "considered as powerful as movies": FleabagUnbelieveable, and Watchmen.

In 2018 Obama selected tracks from Cardi B, Khalid, Chance the Rapper, Kurt Vile, and Jay Rock among others. His list of favorite movies from that year also featured a Korean film, Burning in this case, alongside Black PantherBlacKkKlansman, and Roma.
