Per Wiz, who spoke with Stereogum this week in advance of the new album’s unveiling, the creative goal going into sessions for his latest release was to “come up with something I haven’t done before” while also bringing to fruition some ideas he’s been holding onto for some time now.

“The album kind of took shape on its own, with me just trying to create different moments for myself, whether it be a fun and upbeat moment like ‘Iced Out Necklace’ or a club moment like ‘Bad Ass Bitches’ or, you know, more serous or soulful moments or segues into things that lyrically I can do,” he told the publication.

Wiz’s Multiverse experience will be further brought to life this summer as part of his co-headlining Vinyl Verse Tour with Logic, which kicked off this week in Irvine. Next up for the joint routing is a stop in Phoenix this Saturday, followed by upcoming dates in Austin, Nashville, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and more. Head here to buy tickets to see them live.

Earlier this year, Wiz was recruited for Girl Talk’s Full Court Press project with Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA. In June, Complex premiered the video for Wiz and Girl Talk’s “Ready for Love,” directed by Andy Koeger. Revisit that here.
