“The way society is, they tell you there’s a certain way you have to be. And that’s not for me.”

These words of inspiration are spoken by Tyler, The Creator in the new trailer for Hulu’s upcoming RapCaviar Presents docuseries, which debuts later this month. The trailer, available exclusively up top, gives viewers the deepest look yet at the highly anticipated new series based on the long-running Spotify playlist of the same name.

Elsewhere in the latest glimpse, we get Pharrell opening up about the inherent loneliness of “bending a genre,” as well as some insight from Post Malone about the pressures that come with mainstream attention. Also featured are Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, City Girls, Roddy Ricch, Polo G, Coi Leray, and more.

The trailer isn’t the first look we’ve gotten at RapCaviar Presents. In February, a Tyler-focused clip was released that saw the artist speaking candidly about the important role Pharrell has played in his life. In that teaser, Pharrell was seen stressing the importance of becoming “purpose-oriented” on one’s artistic journey.

“Why are you doing music?” Pharrell recalled advising Tyler at one point. “Is it just because you just want to look cool? ’Cause that will burn out. When it becomes purpose-oriented, it can be as cool as the flashy shit, but it will be much more meaningful.”

Revisit the teaser below.

“We’re really proud of this docuseries,” Creative Director & Head of Urban Music at Spotify and Executive Producer of RapCaviar Presents Carl Chery said in a statement provided to Complex. “As a storytelling medium that is rooted in the spirit of traditional journalism – most of the episodes chronicle an artist’s journey in parallel with topics that relate to society and hip-hop culture at large. Offering an inside look at the personal stories behind some of today’s most popular artists, we examine rap’s dominant archetype female empowerment, generational trauma, and the criminalization of hip-hop, among other topics.”

RapCaviar Presents hits Hulu on March 30. The six-part series is directed by Karam Gill, Quan Lateef-Hill, Peter J. Scalettar, Wendy J.N. Lee, Farah X, and Mandon Lovett.
