Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj’s feud may have just taken a dark turn.
According to TMZ, police have been reportedly called in to protect the gravesite of Megan’s late mother, Holly Thomas, after alleged doxxing by Minaj’s fanbase.
Thomas, who passed away from brain cancer in 2019, was interred just south of Houston, Texas. The cemetery told the outlet that they have notified local authorities and increased the number of security personnel at their facility in the wake of the rappers' feud.
An associate from the cemetery also added that nothing has happened to the gravesite yet, but they emphasized that they are on “high alert.”
Per TMZ, a number of Barbz may have leaked the location of Thomas’ burial site on social media and allegedly encouraged others to vandalize the grave.
Megan and Nicki first became acquainted with each other when they collaborated on Meg's 2019 single “Hot Girl Summer.” It’s unclear exactly when and why the two had a falling out, but some believe that Megan collaborating with Cardi B on “WAP” may have played a role in their dispute. Minaj and Cardi have had their own share of issues that have played out in the headlines since 2017.
Since then, Minaj seems to have alluded to her rift with Megan a few times. On her single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” Minaj rapped, “I ain’t fuck with horses since Christopher Reeve,” seemingly making a reference to Megan’s stage name.
Another subliminal came in the form of a freestyle track called “For All the Barbz,” where Minaj spits "VMAs was a family reunion/First time in a while I seen all of my sons,” referring to the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards where Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and Doja Cat were in attendance. Further into the song she says, “I get these bitches scramblin' when I throw the bait/One sub killed five bitches, OceanGate."
The culmination of alleged disses and criticism over Tory Lanez’s shooting case led to Megan’s latest track, “Hiss,” released on Friday. The single has a number of disses aimed at the rapper’s detractors.
One particular bar in 'Hiss" has rubbed Minaj the wrong way. A mention of “Megan’s Law,” a piece of legislation aimed against sex offenders, is believed by some to be about Minaj’s husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, a registered sex offender in California.
Since the release of “Hiss,” Minaj has targeted a number of verbal attacks against Megan across multiple social media platforms. On Instagram Live, Minaj told Megan to “conjure up” her mother and “apologize” for her alleged actions over the years.
Minaj issued a response with “Big Foot” on Sunday at midnight.
