In an announcement that's surely been a long time coming, Drake has shared that dancehall artist Popcaan is the latest addition to the OVO Sound roster. Drizzy came on stage at Unruly Fest in Jamaica as a surprise guest, performing a number of songs and sharing the news.

"This is something we've worked on for a very long time," he told the audience. "I just wanna let everybody know, finally. Officially, 2019 Popcaan is signed to OVO." The crowd understandably erupted in cheers. Drake and Popcaan shared pictures of themselves together to celebrate the occasion.

Popcaan will be joining a roster which features PartyNextDoor, Majid Jordan, Roy Woods, dvsn,  and a number of notable in-house producers that includes 40 and Boi-1da. He and Drake previously linked up on an early version of "Controlla" (Drake's solo version ended up on Views).

Popcaan's last album, this year's Forever, came out through Dre Skull's Brooklyn-based Mixpak Records, which specializes in dancehall. The project followed up his debut, 2014's Where We Come From.
