The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards are here. Held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, this year’s VMAs will be handing out the ceremony’s iconic Moon Person award in categories such as Video of the Year, Best New Artist, Artist of the Year, and more. Cardi B leads the pack with ten nominations, followed by eight nominations from the married duo of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who went by The Carters on their joint album Everything Is Love. Drake and Childish Gambino complete the top three list with seven nominations each.
The nominees for the coveted Video of the Year award include Ariana Grande and the gravity-defying visuals for her song “No Tears Left to Cry,” Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s homage to In Living Color with “Finesse (Remix),” and Camila Cabello’s Young Thug-assisted single “Havana,” which parodies certain elements of the telenovela. Childish Gambino’s video for “This Is America,” The Carters' "APES**T," and “God’s Plan” by Drake, who gave away his entire $996,631.90 music video budget, round out the list in that category.
