Despite having a considerably full house of eight children, former NFL quarterback Cam Newton insists that he wants to continue being in daddy mode.
The 35-year-old Funky Friday podcast host debated relationships in a sit-down with life coach Dr. Cheyenne Bryant on the show’s latest episode, which was posted on Friday, August 23rd.
Around the 1:38:00-minute mark of the video below, Newton shared that he has "eight beautiful children" with three women. His youngest child, who's name and gender has not been revealed, was born earlier this year by his girlfriend, comedian Jasmin Brown.
"And this is the kicker," Newton said after revealing his amount of children. "I want more."
"By multiple women? What's the intent? Or by your wife?" Dr. Bryant asked.
Newton replied, "I just want God to bring her...Because my point is this: my desire to get married is lower than my fear of divorce."
Although the retired football player insisted that he was "taking his time," Dr. Bryant retorted, calling him "very action-based" and accused him of "selfishly creating broken families."
Although Newton was receptive to Dr. Bryant's message, he's shared before that he wants a large family, saying similar on podcast Club Shay Shay in April.
"People saying, ‘You having all these kids.’ I take care of all my kids," Newton told host Shannon Sharpe. "See, that’s the thing. I always wanted a big family. I come from that so I want that."
He continued, "I owe due diligence to each woman who [has] given me that, and I respect them the same. Do I have jurisdiction over who they talk to? No. But I owe a service to loving them unconditionally no matter what they do, and we have to co-parent together."
