Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd is set to star in his first feature film alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.
Tesfaye created the project, will produce, and co-wrote the script with Trey Edward Shults and Reza Fahim. Shults will direct. The untitled movie’s logline and plot have yet to be announced. Composer and producer Daniel Lopatin aka OPN will handle the film’s score with The Weeknd. OPN previously worked on the scores for Uncut Gems and Good Time.
In other news, The Weeknd recently became the first artist in Spotify history to garner 100 million monthly listeners.

Until then, fans can catch Tesfaye in the upcoming HBO series The Idol. The series, which was created by Sam Levinson and Tesfaye, is set to debut on HBO later this year.
