A key element in Yo Gotti’s recently released Gangsta Grillz mixtape is 17-year-old producer Yung Dee.

In a recent Breakfast Club interview, Gotti reflected on first being introduced to Dee’s work via social media. Following that introduction, as fans already know, Dee was enlisted as executive producer of the recently released I Showed U So.

As Gotti explained it, the tape was intentionally designed as an “art piece,” meaning the project’s brevity was a purposeful decision by all involved.

“We found him. He was 14 years old. … He’s 17 now,” Gotti said, as seen below. ‘When we met him, he was 14 on Instagram Live.”

After the initial discovery, per Gotti, Dee sent him and Moneybagg Yo some beats. This move, of course, ultimately inspired a signing. And while Dee’s father had to join him at some studio sessions due to his age, the rising producer wants the world to know that his parents have been nothing but supportive of his artistic journey thus far.

“They was happy. … They let me do me," Dee, who's credited as an executive producer on Gotti's latest project, said told the Breakfast Club crew earlier this month.
