After a month-long delayBrandy has finally released her "Baby Mama" single featuring Chance the Rapper.

The Grammy-winning artist explained the message behind the track during a recent interview with SiriusXM's Laura Coates. She said the song, which was initially set to drop in late March, was dedicated to all the moms who've dedicated so much to their families.

"It’s celebrating mothers out there who are out there doing their best for their children and striving in their independence, in their strength, in their power," she said. "I just wanted to come out with a powerful message like that."

"Baby Mama" is Brandy's first record release since 2019's "Freedom Rings." The 41-year-old singer told Coates she has been spending a lot of time working on her seventh studio album, which would mark her first full-length drop since 2012's Two Eleven.

"I finally got the guts to put a single out. It’s been a long time coming, but music is my passion, it’s my love, and I have so much left in me so I wanted to come back to this music world and just give it all I’ve got," she explained. "I’ve dedicated the last couple years of my life to my new music, my new project. It’s taken me a while, but I’m so happy about the focus and the work ethic that I’ve put into this project. I’m really proud of it and I finally feel ready to present it to the world."

You can stream the Hit-Boy-produced song now on Apple Music and Spotify and check out the Derek Blanks-directed video up top.

Though "Baby Mama" is the pair's first official collaboration, Chano sampled the singer's 1994 hit "I Wanna Be Down" on the The Big Day cut "Ballin Flossin," featuring Shawn Mendes.
