We're officially in Utopia. After almost five years, Travis Scott has delivered the follow-up to Astroworld.
The album La Flame first teased in 2020, his fourth studio LP, arrived at midnight complete with five different pieces of cover art.
The 19-track record is a star-studded affair with a confrontational, Pusha T-antagonizing feature from Drake, as well as verses and/or writing contributions from Beyoncé, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Kid Cudi, The Weeknd (twice), SZA, 21 Savage, Future, Swae Lee, Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, James Blake, Bad Bunny, Bon Iver, Rob49, Sampha, Teezo Touchdown, Yung Lean, and Westside Gun, among a few others from Travis's deep rolodex. (Plus a few words from Dave Chappelle.) Utopia's excellent production comes courtesy of Kanye West, Pharrell, Metro Boomin, Mike Dean, The Alchemist, Wondagurl, Illangelo, Boi-1da, Wheezy, Vinylz, OZ, Vegyn, Noah Goldstein, Allen Ritter, and more.
On the aforementioned Drake-featuring "Meltdown," the 6 God drags Pharrell into his feud with Pusha T.
Ahead of the release, mysterious totems appeared in the Texas town named Utopia. To coincide with the arrival of the album, Scott initially planned to hold a launch event at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on Friday. The show was canceled, however, but he teased that he'll perform there eventually.
"Egypt at the pyramids will happen," Travis tweeted on Wednesday. "But due to demand and detail logistics They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands. I will keep u posted on a date which will be soon love you alllll. But in good news I had 4 more of these type of experiences in other places. COORDINATES SOON REACH."

Utopia isn't even the only project the rapper has out today. Scott's debut film Circus Maximus, which doubles as a track title and was only announced at Rolling Loud Miami last week, is hitting theaters across the country. Directed by Scott, Circus Maximus also boasts co-directors including Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine, Drive visionary Nicolas Winding Refn, and Enter the Void helmer Gaspar Noé. Curiously, the poster suggests A24's involvement, but Variety reports the studio is not part of it.
Following Circus Maximus, the 32-year-old is scheduled to make his acting debut in Korine's new movie Aggro Dr1ft, which will screen out of competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. Scott stars opposite actor Jordi Mollá. Other major films set to premiere at the festival include new feature-lengths from Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
