When it was announced that Maroon 5 would be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show next year on Feb. 3, 2019 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a lot of people were disappointed that Atlanta's rich hip-hop scene was seemingly shafted in favor of the pop-rock band. Thankfully, it would appear that Electronic Arts Inc. and On Location Experiences were listening.

As Sports Illustrated reports, Migos, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Lil Yachty, Metro Boomin, and Lil Baby will be performing at a pre-Super Bowl show on Jan. 31, 2019 hosted by the two aforementioned companies. The EA SPORTS BOWL will take place just days before the Super Bowl next year, and will celebrate some of Atlanta's best.

“Atlanta has an incredibly rich history in music, and it was important for us to draw inspiration for the EA SPORTS BOWL lineup directly from our host city,” said Senior Director of Marketing for EA SPORTS Randy Chase. “We’re looking forward to celebrating Atlanta’s music culture with some of the city’s most successful and popular artists. We’ve got a great lineup announced already, and a few more surprises up our sleeves that are going to start the weekend off right with an incredible show.”

Speaking about the event, Ludacris added, "I’m proud to welcome everyone to Atlanta, my hometown, alongside EA Sports. You know me and my friends are going to celebrate Atlanta’s amazing music and culture, this is going to be a night you won’t want to miss.”
