It's unclear what, exactly, sparked 21's message. As previously reported, he was initially set to perform on Sunday at Rolling Loud New York.

21 Savage says he’s done with Rolling Loud.

As previously reported, 21 Savage was originally scheduled to perform as part of Rolling Loud New York this weekend, joining Future and others on the final day of the three-day festival at Citi Field. However, for reasons not publicly confirmed at the time of this writing, 21 ultimately never took the stage.

While speculation has continued with regards to what, exactly, happened, 21 said in a tweet shared Sunday night that Rolling Loud “will never get a show out of me ever again.’

Complex has reached out to reps for Rolling Loud for comment. This post may be updated. The 2022 edition of Rolling Loud New York also spurred headlines in connection with a surprise appearance from the artist formerly known as Kanye West and a viral mosh pit moment centered on ASAP Rocky.

Earlier this month, Complex included “Cash In Cash Out”—a track featuring 21 Savage alongside Tyler, the Creator and led by Pharrell—among our picks for the best songs of the summer. 21’s verse on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind track “Jimmy Cooks,” meanwhile, recently landed among Complex’s selections for the year’s best rap verses (so far).

In August, 21 joined the roster of artists assembled by DJ Khaled for his God Didalbum. 21 can be heard on two tracks from the album, “Way Past Luck” and “Keep Going,” the latter of which also features Lil Durk and Roddy Ricch.
