On a Instagram post she shared on Friday, Rihanna sent her fans into a flurry by simply responding to one of the many comments asking when to expect new music. "2019," she wrote.

And with that, the hype for the follow-up to 2016's ANTI has kicked into gear.

Earlier this week, Rihanna's go-to vocal producer Kuk Harrell said that her currently untitled ninth studio album was sounding "amazing." He added, "It's incredible, and that's all I'm going to say." He didn't give us a time frame for the album's release, though.

Back in September, Rih Rih let her fans know that she would be releasing new material as she focused on her other interests. "Simultaneously doing lingerie, makeup, film, amongst a couple other things that I enjoy," she said. "When the music is ready, you won't have to ask for it. But it's coming."

That's not the only project she has on the way soon. She recently appeared in the trailer for Donald Glover and Hiro Murai's mysterious Guava Island. The trailer for the film has yet to be officially released, and whether Guava Island is a full-length movie or something to coincide with the "final" Childish Gambino album remains unconfirmed.
