Scorpio season kicked off on Tuesday, followed by an epically nostalgic party to celebrate the most famous Scorpio around. Drake hosted a 2000s-themed bash for his 32nd birthday on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. If you’re reading this and thinking, am I that old? Yes, the early aughts are retro enough now to be the perfect party theme, as Drake's iconic event proves.
The Toronto rapper put together a Blockbuster video wall, a 7-Eleven filled with Slurpees and stoner snack, and brought in cars from MTV’s hit show Pimp My Ride for the party. The extravagant celebration also included a room showcasing photos of Drake as a child, which he named after his mother calling it “Sandra’s Room.” For those lucky enough to attend, birthday merch included airbrushed tees of a young Drake's face.
Throughout the night, Aubrey sported two different birthday looks. He started off the soirée with an outfit inspired by Fabolous’ 2002 music video for “Trade It All.” He later switched into a dark blue sweatsuit and wore a white headband while carrying around a flip phone all night.
Of course, no birthday is complete without a cake. To continue the 2000s theme, Drake’s birthday cake was a replica of Motorola Timeport.
Swizz Beatz, French Montana, Jas Prince, Kendall Jenner, Diddy, and Chris Brown were just a few of the A-List celebs in attendance. Drake also reportedly raffled $5,000 Chanel bags for the women who came to the party. It sucks that our invite got lost in the mail!
