UPDATED 10/29, 5:48 p.m. ET: It turns out Drake’s Richard Mille is in fact a $5.5 million piece that the “iconic watch designer dropped in 2019,” per TMZ.
Drizzy worked with New York’s Pristine Jewelers to land the one-of-one watch. Founder/owner Ofir Ben Shimon posted a classy Instagram pic with Drake showing off the purchase, writing, “DO IT FOR THE CULTURE @champagnepapi 1 of 1 #rm5601sapphire Happy 35th Bday you did it right.”

Drake is drawing attention to his wrist thanks to a rare Richard Mille piece.
The Certified Lover Boy rapper showed off the piece via an Instagram Stories update, noting that 2021 has been an “Easy Money Year” for him. While some subsequent estimates placed the piece at $2.2 million, notably by way of speculating that the piece in question is an RM 56-02, others have theorized that this is instead more likely to be an RM 056. More specifically, some have speculated that this could actually be an extremely rare prototype of that model.
A source tells Complex, however, that this could be a unique piece that would have initially retailed for up to $2.3 million, though Drake likely paid more (even, according to the source, as much as $5 million). The source also stated that the watch in question could possibly be a Jean Todt-related RM 056 model.
