This is the second time in as many years that a player from USC collapsed during a workout. Last July, USC center Vince Iwuchukwu suffered cardiac arrest during an informal team workout and was hospitalized for a few days. He was cleared to play in January.

Bronny's medical scare also comes after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after making a simple tackle during a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinatti Bengals in January. Hamlin received CPR and an AED before being rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

He showed signs of improvement and was sent to a hospital in Buffalo where he was discharged nine days later. He has since made a full recovery and was cleared to play football in April.
