New Orleans Pelicans point guard Devonte’ Graham was arrested by State Highway Patrol in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday and hit with a DWI charge.

As WNCN reports, the 27-year-old NBA star was arrested by a state trooper at around 3 a.m. local time on Thursday. Police records from Wake County show that he listed the Pelicans as his employer, and it appears as though he’s already been released from jail. Graham has not publicly addressed the arrest, and the Pelicans have also remained quiet on the matter at least for now.

Prior to joining the Pelicans last year, Graham was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA Draft. He’s currently in the middle of a 4-year, $47.3 million deal and is gearing up for a second season with the Pelicans. In his first year with the team, he played in 76 games and averaged 11.9 points and 4.2 assists per game.

The Kansas Jayhawks alumni beat out Mahmoud Abdul-Raul’s record for the longest buzzer-beating game-winning shot in NBA history back in December, landing a 61-foot shot that led the Pelicans to victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The news comes not long after Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes was arrested and hospitalized with minor injuries following a violent altercation with police. The Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation into the incident after Hayes alleged that force was applied to his neck, which resulted in him having difficulty breathing. Graphic footage of the arrest was later shared online, and showed officers requesting backup as they attempted to place his hands behind his back.
