Simu Liu participated in the 2023 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday in Utah and seemed to have a great time outside of one moment.

During the game, a since-criticized decision was made to feature Liu alongside a fan for a celebrity look-alike cam segment that some called out as racist.

The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor made his feelings known on Twitter, writing, “I had a great time but this wasn’t cool.”

The league or the Utah Jazz have yet to respond.

Liu, who was listed as being 5-foot-11, played for Team Dwyane [Wade] on Friday with teammates that included21 Savage, Hasan Minhaj, Janelle Monáe, and Nicky Jam. Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, who was also on the team, was named the game’s MVP.

Team Dwyane went against Team Ryan and eventually won the contest with a final score of 81-78. Team Ryan featured Cordae, Ozuna, Kane Brown, and Guillermo Rodriguez playing with Utah Jazz governor Ryan Smith acting as honorary captain.

Liu will next appear in Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and others. The film is set to hit theaters this summer on July 21, 2023. Head here to catch the movie’s teaser trailer
