Following featuring in Kim Kardashian's ad campaign for her Skims clothing brand, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander found the time to sit with the entertainment mogul to discuss several topics ranging from their families to their ideal celebrities with whom they'd like to spend a day.
The 25-year-old maintained a mostly serious tone throughout the conversation for Interview Magazine but revealed several tidbits about his athletics career and interests.
When Kardashian asked him about his pregame ritual and go-to pregame songs, Gilgeous-Alexander showed his seriousness.
"I don't listen to any music before a game," he said. "It helps clear my mind so I'm not thinking too much. But I always eat an apple before I go up."
He goes on to admit he likes to trash-talk players but he only does so when someone else instigates.
"I'm a super competitor, so if someone talks shit, I'll have no problem following it up."
Later in the interview, Kardashian asked Gilgeous-Alexander who his favourite designer is at the moment, to which he replied Virgil Abloh.
In fact, Gilgeous-Alexander is such a big fan of his, that when Kardashian asked him which five people he would want to spend a day with if he could, he explained that it would have been Abloh if he were still alive.
He also added Drake, Brazilian soccer player Vinícius Júnior, and Denzel Washington into the mix.
"Drake is my brother. He’s also a basketball fan and obviously I love music, so we connect," he said about Drizzy.
With one more spot available, the Canadian said he'd have wanted to hang out with Kobe Bryant, citing him as his "number one idol growing up."
"Mamba mentality, how he played, how he approached the game, how approached off the court, everything about him," Gilgeous-Alexander explained. "Sad I never got to meet him before he passed away."
This week, Gilgeous-Alexander announced that he and his partner were expecting their first child together.
