Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the hunt for an NBA championship, but he's also venturing into unknown territory off the court.
On Sunday, the Canadian basketball player took to Instagram to announce that he and his girlfriend Hailey Summers will be welcoming their first child.
The caption only mentioned 2024, the year in which the baby would be due along with a heart and infinity emoji.
The picture shows Gilgeous-Alexander holding onto Summers' baby bump.
The comments on the picture saw peers and competitors alike wishing him and Summers well.
"Congrats brudda," wrote Jarred Vanderbilt of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gilgeous-Alexander's cousin Nickeil Alexander-Walker wondered who the godfather would be.
"Jeeeeezzzzzz, but who’s the GOD father?" he asked.
Fellow Canadian Steve Nash also wrote three heart emoji.
When Gilgeous-Alexander isn't guiding the Oklahoma City Thunder to victories, he's showing off his advanced fashion game in the arena tunnels.
The Canadian also advocated for the NBA to bring a team to Montreal during his visit to the city during the preseason when the Thunder played the Detroit Pistons.
