Back in December of 2017, Hannibal Buress was recorded on camera being arrested during an altercation with Miami PD; as you can see in the video up above, he clearly shouts out YouTube (no doubt where he figured this clip would end up). He beat that case the following February.
Because he is Hannibal Buress, almost three years later, he linked up with YouTube to stream his next special, Miami Nights, for free.
The special, which will stream live starting at 9 p.m. ET via YouTube on July 3, is said to touch on the 2017 incident Buress went through. It's insane; with Black people being murdered by police toooften, we wouldn't be surprised if you realized "damn, Hannibal survived that incident." He's living to talk about it, and more we imagine. Also intriguing to note that the special will air not only four years after Buress' last special (2016's Comedy Camisado), but will air just weeks after Netflix posted Dave Chappelle's 8:46 (which heavily dealt with the deaths of George Floyd and many others at the hands of police across America) for free on YouTube. It looks like the comedy world is finding ways to not only get new material off, but to speak out about what's going on socially.
