Disney+, the new streaming service for *double checks* Disney, is set to launch at some point in 2019, and they'll be damned if they don't reach into their bag of intellectual properties to let the competitors know that they're serious.
According to Variety, the company is prepping a scripted series based upon their iconic (and already well-known) villains. At the moment the series is called Book of Enchantments, and will be based upon the Disney-villain themed book series Villains by author Serena Valentino (who is currently working on her seventh novel in said series).
Thus far villains featured in that series are: Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, the Wicked Queen from Snow White, and though it would seem that the bad guy in Beauty and the Beast was the person who turned a servant into a candle and even a dog into a footrest, the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
Details are light at the moment, but the series' production is expected to begin in 2020.
Related to that, there's also no exact date for the debut of the Disney+ service, but it's gunning for late 2019 and, as hinted at above, has already ordered some heavy hitters, including: a pair of live action Star Wars shows (complete with a Rogue One prequel), a new take on High School Musical, a boatload of MCU connected Marvel shows, and a High Fidelity series.
