Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne has offered an update on her father and refuted unsubstantiated reports that the family is “preparing for the worst.”

“Update from family: Sad to see how the media runs wild,” wrote Corinne Foxx on her Instagram Stories alongside a post from @Rap that claimed his loved ones feared they could lose him. “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

In April, 55-year-old Foxx was hospitalized for an unspecified “medical complication.” At the time his family said he was “already on his way to recovery,” but a series of reports from the past few weeks weren’t quite as hopeful. This month TMZ reported that his loved ones were asking for prayers. In a simple post shared last week, Jamie Foxx said that he was “feeling blessed” after the outpouring of love from fans and friends amid his hospitalization.

Foxx was absent for the start Beat Shazam, which he hosts alongside his daughter who serves as the DJ for the Fox game show. Presumably they will be returning together when Foxx has fully recovered. He was taken to the hospital last month in Georgia and his family flew in to join him. Through his daughter, the family has asked for privacy throughout. They have yet to divulge what happened to the actor, who was shooting his new film Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz.
