Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Hulu and 20th Century Studios released the first trailer for the erotic thriller Deep Water, starring real-life exes Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck.

Helmed by Fatal Attraction and Jacob’s Ladder director Adrian Lyne, the teaser gives very little away. “There’s something wrong with me,” warns de Armas’ character Melinda, wife to Affleck’s Vic. “There’s something wrong with me too,” he replies. Showing nothing more than the married couple’s conversation, the tense teaser makes it clear this won’t be a traditional love story.

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel of the same name, and co-written by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, Deep Water promises to follow the story of a married couple who start to play mind games that turn deadly. The film actually wrapped production all the way back in 2019, and marks Lyne’s first film as a director in 20 years. After facing numerous delays on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’ll finally land on Hulu March 18, 2022. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Lil Rel Howery, Finn Wittrock, Jacob Elordi, and Dash Mihok.

Affleck and de Armas first met during production of the film, and dated from early 2020 until early 2021.

Deep Water hits Hulu on March 18, with an international release via Amazon Prime Video to follow.
