Hulu’s The Kardashians arrives later this week, and apparently so does plenty of insight into the last year of Kim Kardashian’s life.
As Us Weekly initially reported, the first episode of the family’s latest television endeavor features a few comments from Kim about her ex Kanye West, including one about a potential career shift. While out at lunch with Khloé and Kourtney, Kim opened up about wanting her outfits “lined up” in her room, when the conversation turns to Ye.
“He says wants to quit everything and just dedicate his life to being my stylist,” Kim tells her sisters. She then tells cameras, “Kanye and I remain friends. Kanye has always dressed me, he’s always styled me. In the early 2000s, he would literally just send me random emails with all these looks and what my style should be. Only wear crop tops and pencil skirts right now. It’s all about a boot with a skirt, and he’ll send me so many reference pictures so that’s always really been our thing but there’s also a side of me that wants total independence too.”
The first two episodes of the new series also deal with the alleged second sex tape of Kim and Ray J, which reportedly led to Ye to recovering a laptop from Ray J at the top of the year. While Kardashian reps have since denied such a tape existed, Kim shared a conversation she had with Ye over the laptop during the show.
One episode touches on a moment where Ye and Kim’s son Saint stumbled on a “super inappropriate” ad about her sex tape with Ray J while he was playing Roblox during a family BBQ. Watch that clip below.
The ad mentioned “unreleased footage,” which prompted Kim to phone lawyer Marty Singer and explain she was “99 percent” sure there was no more footage out there. “Get something drafted so that it can be taken down immediately. I don’t want it to be copied. I have four fucking kids. I can’t go through this again,” she said. “This was like 20 years ago. I’m not going to go through this again. I know the right attorneys this time, I know exactly what to do this time. I’m not going to let this happen to me again. So we’re going to get on top of this. I have all the time, all the money, and all the resources to burn them all to the fucking ground.”
She also shared a call with Ye.
“It’s not OK,” Kim told him on the phone. “On Roblox? Saint was on Roblox yesterday and a thing popped up and he started laughing and he said ‘Mommy look!’ and it was a picture of my cry face and it was a game that someone made on Roblox and it said Kim’s New Sex Tape when you click on it. Thank God he can’t read yet. Over my dead body is this going to happen to me again. I just want it gone. This is not going to fuck with me. It’s not. I just want it gone. It’s just annoying, I almost died when Saint thought it was funny.”
As Kim explained on the show, her ex helped her calm down during the situation. “Kanye was like, ‘Listen, you have the power. Nothing will cancel you. Stop worrying about the public perception. You know who you are.’”
Kim has previously opened up about how much she “dreads” having to one day explain the tape to her children, as she explained during an interview with Andy Cohen in 2021.
“Luckily, I think that so many years have gone on and so many things have happened positively that it really erases that,” she said during that discussion. “That is something that I have to live with for the rest of my life, but it’s something that’s being held over my head. I try not to have any regrets, but it’s probably the one thing I wish didn’t exist. If I could erase any of the stupid things that I’ve done in life, that’s probably it.”
Also in the show, Kardashian was followed through her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, when she claims she wanted to tap Ye as a musical guest so their kids can see them both on television.
“Kanye and I are still going through a divorce now,” she said. “We’re just trying to figure out how to be good parents to our kids together, how to be good friends to each other. Ultimate goal no matter what is just happiness and just following whatever that looks like.”
As for where Kim’s at now, she and SNL star Pete Davidson recently celebrated the premiere of her new series by dining at Jon & Vinny’s in L.A. on Thursday night. Ironically, TMZ reports they ordered the restaurant’s “Ham & Yeezy” pizza.
