Lamar Odom has faced plenty of hardships throughout his life, including a battle with substance abuse, sexual addiction, and a number of legal issues. But if he had the option to go back and change one thing, what would that be?

"I would never cheat on my wife," Odom said, referring to his ex, Khloé Kardashian. "That haunts me every day."

The 39-year-old athlete opened up about his relationship with Kardashian during an interview on BuzzFeed News' Profile series. Odom credited Kardashian for aiding his recovery from a suspected drug overdose that landed him in a coma back in 2015.

"She was my angel," he told reporter Ashley Ford. "When I woke up out of the coma, my memory was terrible and I couldn’t walk or talk, and just her spirit, always being there, her bringing pictures of my mother, my grandmother, just to help me bring my memory back."

Odom, who is on a promotional tour for his new memoir Darkness to Light, married Kardashian in 2009, just 30 days after meeting her. The couple split about four years into their marriage, after Odom's substance abuse and infidelity became increasingly apparent. Their divorce was finalized in 2016, but Odom insists Kardashian will always be in his heart.

"Any man that ever came into her life, I never really felt threatened by them," he said. "[...] You marry someone after 30 days, they never leave your heart. I don't think so."
