Young Thug’s Brother Unfoonk Takes Plea Deal in YSL RICO Case, Denies He ‘Told on Anybody’

Earlier this month, Gunna was announced to have taken an Alford plea in the controversial YSL case and was subsequently released from custody.

Young Thug’s brother Unfoonk is the latest named in the widely criticized YSL case to be reported to have taken a plea deal.

Per local reports including this one from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Quantavious Grier—a.k.a. Unfoonk—entered his negotiated guilty plea on one count of violating Georgia’s RICO act and a count of theft by reception of stolen property on Tuesday.

The resulting 12-year sentence was broken down into two years being commuted to time-served and the remaining 10 years on probation. 750 hours of community service, maintaining a curfew, and refraining from contact with his brother and others in the original indictment are also listed as stipulations in the plea agreement.

Unfoonk addressed his deal in an Instagram Stories update, below.

“Damn people really think I told on my own brother smh,” he said. “Show me in my paper work I told on anybody LOL.” Unfoonk added that he wasn’t interested in entertaining such talk further, instead closing out his update with “peace and blessings.”

When reached for comment by Complex on Wednesday, Unfoonk’s lawyer, Nicole Moorman, noted that the 10-year probation is eligible for potential termination after three years.

“Mr. Grier understands the uncertainty of a trial, as shown by a prior, now reversed conviction in Fulton County,” Moorman told Complex in an email. “Mr. Grier has accepted a plea offer of essentially 10 years of probation which is eligible for termination after 3 years. Mr. Grier has not cooperated and has not agreed to testify against any of his co-defendants in the trial.”

Earlier this month, Gunna was released after agreeing to an Alford plea. In a statement shared at the time via his lawyer, Gunna noted that such a deal meant he was pleading guilty to the one charge against him while simultaneously maintaining his innocence.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said.

Lil Duke and Slimelife Shawty were later reported to have also taken plea deals of their own.
