This week’s episode of Drink Champs did not disappoint.
On Thursday night, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West made his debut appearance on the Black Effect Network podcast, which is from Charlamagne tha God and iHeartRadio, and co-hosted by N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. The two hosts announced Ye’s sit-down just hours before it aired on YouTube, sharing an Instagram post with the program’s logo and a recording of the “Donda” chant.
“Can’t sleep like it’s Christmas Tommorrow,” N.O.R.E. tweeted Wednesday. “I’m getting a special type of haircut for Tommorrow!!!!”
Fans were understandably pumped about the Drink Champs episode, which marked Ye’s first big interview since the release of Donda—his long-awaited 10th studio album that arrived back in August. During the interview, the multi-hyphenate discussed his latest project, named after his late mother Donda West, as well as his split from Kim Kardashian, his struggles with addiction, his 2009 VMA scandal with Taylor Swift, his beef with Drake, his unusual new hairstyle (which he called “a Britney”), and much more.
Kanye also said that a deluxe version of Donda will be coming out.
Kanye even smoked some weed during the interview. “C’mon, you my Joe Rogan. Let’s go,” Ye said before taking a hit.
