Consequence shared his new song “Blood Stain” on Friday.

As Cons previously teased, the song boasts what he considers the “beat of the year” from the artist formerly known as Kanye West. A clip of masked Ye listening to the beat was shared earlier this week to mark Yeezy’s 45th birthday.

Of the subsequently released music video, above, Consequence told HipHopDX, “My heart was able to bleed through the pen after being confronted with life threatening circumstances, which became the inspiration for ‘BLOOD STAIN.’ Directed by Zachary Wanerman, this visual is a metaphorical depiction of actual events that will remain a constant reminder that I will carry with me always. And that is…you should never share your soul with a person who would be willing to count you out. No, something that precious should only be given to someone who you can count on.”

Jadakiss shared his own reaction to the song, calling it “the hottest shit in the country.”

Cons and Ye, of course, have a deep and fruitful collaborative history together. Last year, he contributed to the Donda track “Hurricane,” which ultimately went on to win Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

At the top of this month, Consequence shared a public apology to Drake after previously dissing him on the 2021 track “Party Time.” Ye and Drake, as is well-documented, have also set aside their issues.

“Pardon me for whatever was said about you or your loved ones,” Consequence said last week when sharing a screenshot of a 2016 conversation between himself and producer Noah “40” Shebib.
