Completely out of nowhere on Friday, ASAP Rocky let loose a new track that sees him sonically reuniting with Playboi Carti.

The tentatively titled “Our Destiny,” fittingly stylized as “Our De$tiny,” was shared via an AWGE compilation clip posted to Rocky’s Instagram (above). At the time of this writing, it was unclear whether a DSP rollout for the new track was imminent.

Rocky and Carti—whose careers, as fans know, are fruitfully intertwined—have a number of past collabs under their collective belt, including the still-in-rotation 2017 single “New Choppa.” In an interview with Ross Scarano for Complex that same year, Carti spoke on how Rocky inspired him early in his career, a spark that ultimately resulted in the two becoming close.

“I met Rocky at this house party and it was crazy,” Carti said at the time when reflecting on first linking with Rocky back in 2015. “He told me he fucked with me, bro, and after he said that I was like, I gotta get out here and get my swag up. It was lit. There were a bunch of bitches everywhere. It was life. The life I wanted was in the house, right there.”

Carti last gifted the planet with a full-length studio album with 2020’s rightfully acclaimed Whole Lotta Red, while Rocky is a little over four years removed from Testing, his third studio effort. However, both artists have offered little tidbits here and there about the status of their respective next chapters.

In April, Carti suggested a new project tentatively titled Music could be on the horizon, as well as addressed the possibility of one day releasing a joint full-length with Lil Uzi Vert. Rocky, meanwhile, was said to be wrapping up his new album as of May of this year.
