Famous Dex is dropping a new project and told TMZ that he’s been completely sober for 11 months while revealing a healthy new look.

Dexter ran into TMZ at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday and eagerly told the outlet that he was sober, while TMZ confirmed he was back in the studio working on Rich Forever 5, though Dexter didn’t speak on it in the actual video.

“I’m not doing drugs no more, I’ve been drug clean for 11 months, I’m happy and healthy,” Dex said before taking off his sunglasses to reveal his glowing skin. He then celebrated that he had signed a “big deal” with 300 Entertainment.

“Keep God first and never forget where you come from,” Dex said as a PSA to those who may be struggling. “Keep God first, never give up because we might give up but God don’t and stay humble.”

Dex’s newfound sobriety comes after he teased his new deal with 300 Entertainment last week. Dexter claimed the deal to be worth around $5.6 million, though more details weren’t immediately available. The Chicago rapper flexed the deal on Instagram, sharing a colorful photo of him lounging in the 300 Entertainment lobby reading a magazine.

“5.6m new deal today God is amazing,” Dexter wrote.

Dex had previously celebrated five months of sobriety in June, which came after he underwent two stints in rehab for reported opiate addiction. Dex’s recovery came after fans expressed concern at a series of videos on Instagram that seemed to show him high and nodding off. Famous Dex initially denied any reported drug addiction, telling his concerned fans to calm down.

“I got money, I can do whatever the fuck I wanna do,” he said in part on Instagram Live at the time. “Goofy ass bitch. Fuck you worried about me for? And two, I don’t do none of that shit, n***a. I smoke weed and take care of my kids. What the fuck is wrong with you?”

The last official release fans got from Dex was 2020’s Diana, which featured appearances from Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, Fivio Foreign, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Trippie Redd.
