Jim Jones Discusses Drugs and Firearm Possession Arrest

The arrest happened in Georgia.

Jim Jones appeared on The Angie Martinez Show, where he opened up spoke in relatively vague (and lawyer-friendly) terms to the host about his days-old arrest for drug and gun possession. As we previously reported, Jones was arrested in Georgia's Coweta County following a police chase. The New York City-born rapper was reprotedly riding in the backseat of the vehicle, and claimed he told the the driver, who he said was "incoherent," to pull over.

Police allegedly found marijuana, oxycodone, Percocet, THC oil, two loaded pistols, and cash after a search. He was subsequently hit with felony charges of possession of a stolen gun, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of narcotics. Jones also got hit with a with a misdemeanor charge.

The reason we crossed out "opened up" above is because Jones was advised against doing just that by his legal team, but he still gave a few details on the immediate aftermath of the incident. “I’ve been advised by my lawyer, I can't talk about the case,” he said. Jones then spoke about wanting to be the first one to tell his 15-year-old son what went down. “What I can say is that, one of the things that concerned me the most was… I wanted to get home before my son woke up. So that I could speak to him before he seen it anywhere else, because my son is my partner.”

The pair also spoke about Kanye, Meek Mill, and the Drake-Pusha-T beef. At around the 23:30 mark, Jones said he'd be down to box 50 Cent (who recently trolled Jones over his new legal problems).

Jones dropped Wasted Talent, which boasts features from Jadakiss, Lil Durk, YFN Lucci, and more, back in April.
