Drake and J. Cole apparently haven't let being two of hip-hop's top-tier artists get in the way of their friendship. The Toronto star spent part of Saturday night riding around Los Angeles in Cole's Rolls-Royce. J. Cole, who's mostly private despite his status, seemed to be in good spirits when Drake posted footage of them hanging out on his Instagram Stories.
The duo linked up on-record with 2010's "In the Morning" and 2013's "Jodeci Freestyle," but more recently, they've been competitors. J. Cole's KOD broke the 24-hour record for most U.S. Spotify Streams and beat Views' Apple Music record from that time span. Drake allegedly texted J. Cole "I hate you," in jest, and saw his latest album, Scorpion, shatter that mark on both platforms twomonths later. But clearly the numbers haven't strained the two's relationship all that much.
Naturally, J. Cole and Drake linking up had some fans anticipating a new collaboration. It's been a while, after all.
