Just a week after making a standout appearance on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Memphis singer-songwriter Yebba has released her debut album.

Produced by superproducer Mark Ronson, and featuring guest appearances from ASAP Rocky and SminoDawn is Yebba’s first substantial solo release. Prior to the record, she had worked with the likes of Sam Smith, Stormzy, Chance the Rapper, and Ed Sheeran. She also won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for her contribution to PJ Morton’s cover of “How Deep Is Your Love.”

Dawn puts her vocals in the spotlight, making it abundantly clear what prompted Drake to give her a track all to herself on CLB with “Yebba’s Heartbreak.” It also showcases her versatility, opening with the grandiose “How Many Years” before shifting the sounds of the dancefloor with the Kaytranda-produced “Love Came Down.”

In the lead-up to the release of Certified Lover Boy, Drake announced the features on the album with billboards in the home cities of the respective artists. Yebba was featured alongside Project Pat on a billboard in Memphis, while Lil Durk’s guest spot was teased in Chicago, for instance.
