Terrance “Gangsta” Williams, the half-brother of Cash Money founders Birdman and Slim, has shared his first public comments following his release from prison.

In a brief clip shared by YouTube channel RaRe Reports, Williams spoke about his release and detractors, and said he will give a tell-all interview soon.

“I would like to address the critics," Williams said. "First of all, I done 23 years and 10 months. I apologize to you all if you thought I was gonna die in prison. I'm too shrewd, smart. However, I plan to answer all these questions that a lot of you social media guys, internet gangstas [that] had something to say about me."

He stressed that “the interview” will come soon, but right now he’s focused on savoring his freedom. "I'm enjoying life. [It feels] good to be free," he said. "I don't have to worry about standing up for count, I don't have to worry about lockdown, I could eat what I want, I'm living...it's all good. One, I'm out. Much love. Stop the violence, say no to drugs."

Williams was arrested by the FBI when a wiretap caught him dealing heroin and allegedly plotting the murders of rival New York drug dealing organization members. As part of the notorious Hot Boys gang, which later inspired the name of the group featuring Lil Wayne, Williams was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years in 1998 after he pleaded guilty to engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise and solicitation for murder.

He was freed last month, but the reason for his release has not been made public. Judges do not need to disclose the rationale for early release if there’s a potential safety concern regarding the inmate. Court records showed that Williams cooperated with authorities in 1999 while behind bars, but it’s unclear if he gained any benefits as a result. Birdman and Slim have yet to comment on Terrance’s release.
