The team behind XXXTentacion has released his final posthumous album, Bad Vibes Forever, today.

Bad Vibes Forever is a 25-song effort that contains a wide range of featured artists, mirroring X’s tastes from hip-hop, rock, dancehall, and more. Some highlights include Lil Wayne on “School Shooter,” returning the favor after X appeared on “Don’t Cry” off Tha Carter V, Noah Cyrus on “Ecstasy,” and Blink-182 on the final track, “It’s All Fading to Black.”

On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion was shot and killed in an apparent robbery at a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Before his death, X released 17 in 2017 and ? in March of 2018, showcasing his various influences and his ability to create different moods with his music. ? was backed by “Sad!,” a single that surged to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after his passing.

X’s first posthumous release was Skins that dropped at the end of 2018. The album received mixed reviews for being unfocused and largely made up of demos rather than finished tracks, but it showed the direction of his sound and its potential on a mainstream level. Notably, X collaborated with Kanye West and Travis Barker on “One Minute.”

In 2019, X re-issued his album ? with a deluxe version that featured new original material, unheard remixes, and unreleased voice memos. Bad Vibes Forever, which was initially his debut project,will be his last set of music from the vault.
