Top Dawg Entertainment is looking to end their successful year with another installment of their holiday celebration, as they announced their 5th Annual Christmas Concert/Toy Drive.
The festivities will be going down on Dec. 19. at the Nickerson Gardens Projects in Watts, California. Doors are scheduled to open at 12 p.m.
For the past five years, the label has thrown the concert as a means to show love and appreciation to the hometown of TDE's CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith. Last year, the concert featured A-list songstress Rihanna and Bay Area legend E-40.
A celebration on a grand scale is a great way to wrap up the tremendous year for the label. TDE started the year with SiR's positively received project November. The label's success would only trend upward in the months that followed, as February saw the release of the critically acclaimed Black Panther soundtrack.
Aside from making his acting debut in 50 Cent's Power, Kendrick Lamar was featured on Nipsey Hussle's Victory Lap, Anderson .Paak's Oxnard, and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V. In addition, his work on 2017's DAMN. immortalized his name in the history books as the first rapper ever to receive the highly esteemed Pulitzer Prize.
There were new additions to the label's catalog. Jay Rock released the potent offering, Redemption (the album scored high among our 50 best albums list). Recent signee Reason also made his TDE debut with There You Have It, bringing the collective's total number of releases of the year to a solid four.
