By taking the unconventional route in releasing their respective albums, Chris Brown's Heartbreak on a Full Moon and Without Warning by 21 Savage, Offset, and Metro Boomin failed to reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Instead, Livein No Shoes Nation by Kenny Chesney assumed the No. 1 spot after amassing 219,000 equivalent album units with 217,000 coming from traditional album sales, according to Billboard.

Kelly Clarkson's new album Meaning of Life landed at No. 2 with 79,000 equivalent album units, of which 68,000 were in traditional album sales.

In its three full days on the Billboard 200, Heartbreak on a Full Moon landed at No. 3 with 68,000 units while 25,000 came from traditional album sales. On Thursday, Brown expressed his frustration on Instagram with a Billboard format that has been in place for two years now. "So I’m hearing that I will only be credited for three days of sales for my first week," he wrote. "DONT UNDERSTAND how that is."

The singer tried motivating his fans to do their part in order to ensure that his album performs well on the chart, stating, "We only have three days to make up for a full tracking week."

Meanwhile, Without Warning lived up to its title and appeared without, well, much of a warning. Hours before the album was set to drop, a tweet appeared announcing its arrival at midnight.

The surprise album finished at No. 4 with 53,000 units, 11,000 of which came from traditional album sales. It's the first time either Offset, as a solo artist, or Metro Boomin have landed in the top 10.
