There’s nothing like boarding a flight and finding out that there’s no one sitting next to you. The extra leg room and armrest almost make the stressful experience of flying bearable. But one passenger got something even better when to her surprise she boarded a completely empty flight. The Reddit user @shadybaby22 posted a photo of herself sitting on a completely empty aircraft with the caption “I got a whole plane to myself when I was accidently booked on a flight just meant for crew.”
The Redditor’s previous flight from New York to Washington D.C. had been canceled when the airline placed her and several other passengers on a flight intended for crew. The airline later moved all the other passengers to an earlier flight, but @shadybaby22 never received notice about the second flight change. “I realized something was wrong when I was the only one in the waiting area 45 minutes before take off,” she wrote online. “One of the airport agents came over while I was waiting and asked if that was the flight I was waiting for then said ‘I knew this would happen.'”
Some Reddit users responded to the post by asking if she received any special treatment on the flight or if she still had to sit through the safety presentation. Others simply encouraged @shadybaby22 to take advantage of the situation. “Get all them pretzels girl,” one user wrote.
Unfortunately the plane had no first class seats for her to upgrade to, and the flight attendants were still required to give their safety spiel. Still, an empty, 45-minute flight beats having to deal with a screaming baby or what happened to Chrissy Teigen last month.
