Chrissy Teigen and Other Passengers Only Reimbursed $265.80 for Massive Flight F*ck Up

If Helen of Troy’s face launched 1,000 ships, Chrissy Teigen’s tweets probably could have launch at least a few thousand more. The 32-year-old model, who regularly dishes out hilarious sass on Twitter, took to the social media platform on Tuesday to complain about her “flight to nowhere,” which was supposed to be a flight to Tokyo. As Page Six reports, NH Flight 175 departed at 11:36 am before looping back over the Pacific Ocean and landing again at LAX at a at 7:32 pm. According to Teigen's tweets, the flight was turned around because of a rogue passenger.

The whole ordeal translated to an 8-hour round trip from LAX to LAX, for which Teigen and other passengers were only reimbursed a measly $265.80, or $30,000 Japanese yen. However, it may have been less (or nothing) had Mrs. John Legend kept the incident offline. Apparently, a lot of people were asking Teigen why she and husband John Legend (also aboard the flight) didn’t fly privately. “A lot of people have been asking this and I would just like you all to know that a round trip international private flight is like…300,000 dollars.” That’s a lot of yen, fam.

The airline did issue an apology on Twitter, but they should know better than to try Chrissy (especially while pregnant) on her home turf–Twitter. Teigen clapped back, "Honestly everyone on the ground and in the air were very kind and apologetic. But I just need to know why we couldn’t have flown to tokyo and settled this one person’s mistake (who was going to tokyo all along) there, in tokyo. 230 people on this flight."

Teigen and Legend eventually got to Tokyo, but that wasn't before the internet came up with its own conspiracy theories as to why Chrissy's flight was turned around.
