Swedish fashion house Acne Studios is opening their first storefront in Canada. Though Canadians can already buy Acne Studios pieces from different retailers such as Nordstrom and Gravity Pope, their first dedicated location in the country will open its doors this spring.

Set to move into the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto, Acne is set to have some high-end neighbours, standing alongside retailers like Louis Vuitton and Thom Browne. This is part of a new luxury wing being built in the mall, according to Retail Insider

Based out of Stockholm, the famous luxury brand focuses on men’s and women’s ready-to-wear apparel, denim, footwear, and accessories. Inspired by art, photography, and architecture, Acne is recognized for their minimal retail spaces that highlight their edgy and colourful stylings.

Acne Studios already have multiple international locations, with stores in China, Australia, England, Norway, Japan, Germany, the United States, South Korea, among other places.

Late last year, the brand unveiled a new store in New York’s SoHo district, replete with design touches from Arquitectura-G.

Acne’s expansion into Canada joins a recent wave of international retail shops opening throughout the country. UK-based sneaker store JD Sports opened its first locations in Toronto and Vancouver last year, while fellow UK sneaker shop size? launched its first storefront in the 6ix.
