Just days after Sacramento Kings head coach Dave Joerger declared he and teammate Marvin Bagley III are the "next Durant-Westbrook," point guard De'Aaron Fox is offering up a bold proclamation of his own. During his appearance on Posted Up with Chris Haynes: A Yahoo Sports Podcast, Fox called himself the fastest player in the NBA

"People debate it all the time," Fox toldYahoo Sports. "[Debating if I’m one of the] top three or four fastest players in the league. Nah, I’m not up there. I’m No. 1. … I be watching film and I be looking at my feet and I be like, 'Man, there's no way people think I’m not the fastest person.'"

When Haynes mentioned that some people could make a case for John Wall, Fox quickly and confidently responded, "I'm faster than John Wall." When Russell Westbrook's name was brought up, the Kings guard said, "If we’re talking about from baseline to baseline with the ball in my hands, I’m definitely the fastest person in the league."

Check out a clip from his interview below.

With Westbrook and Wall at 30 and 28 years old, respectively, it makes sense that 21-year-old Fox would be faster than the two veteran point guards who have quite a bit of mileage on their bodies. Not to mention that both players have undergone their fair share of knee procedures since coming into the league. It's now up to one of the league's young guns to challenge De'Aaron's claim.
