LeBron James Is Being Sued for Allegedly Stealing Idea for Barbershop Show

The tables have turned.

Just a few weeks ago it was reported that LeBron James' media company Uninterrupted was set to wage a legal battle with the University of Alabama (as well as head coach Nick Saban) over the Crimson Tide's new show Shop Talk, which was virtually identical to the premise of Uninterrupted's own The Shop.

Now, just days later, the sue-er could become the sue-ee (or, in more official terms, the plaintiff could become the defendant) as it seems someone is accusing James and his team are the ones that stole the idea in the first place.

According to TMZ Sports, Adventure Enterprises filed a suit saying that they had previously proposed a show called Shop Talk to LeBron. They are claiming that the idea included celebrities coming in to get a haircut while sharing stories of their successes. They further allege that they talked with LeBron's company about the idea over the course of two years while they refined it and brainstormed ways to pitch it to networks.

As TMZ writes:

After allegedly confronting LeBron's representatives, Adventure Enterprises says they were given an apology in addition to assurances that the webisode was a one-time thing. Yet, after that run-in, another segment aired on ESPN.

At the moment, Adventure Enterprises is reportedly trying to get an injunction that would prevent LeBron and Co. from making new episodes. They're also seeking what TMZ describes as "serious cash." Maverick Carter, LeBron's business partner, is also named in the suit.

Sources close to both Carter and James described the development as "totally frivolous and publicity seeking."
