For years, Drake's seemingly fairweather support of various sports teams has coincided with his favorite franchises having uncanny collapses in monumental moments. As a result, the mythical "Drake Curse" has followed the rapper as he weaves through the world of sports and music. Yet, now it seems that Drizzy isn't the only Canadian export to become an unintentional bad luck charm. Toronto Maple Leafs fans are convinced that Drake and Justin Bieber combined to bring their team some bad luck.
After a tough series against the Boston Bruins, the Leafs lost game 7 on Tuesday, and were eliminated from the playoffs. Bieber, who is an avid fan of the Leafs, was at TD Garden in Boston to watch his team get bounced in the first-round for the second year in a row. Because he was there for the epic loss, Leafs fans came to the logical conclusion that the Biebs sabotaged the team.
Coupled with Drake's appearance at game 4 of the series, which the Leafs also lost, Toronto fans had plenty to gripe about.
Bieber might be latest celebrity to be inducted into sports curses hall of fame, bit Drake is a seasoned veteran. But that might change after Drake sat courtside to watch his beloved Toronto Raptors handle their series against the Orlando Magic. This led Drake to poke fun at the supposed curse after the game.
We'll see if the Raptors' Drake-infused good fortunes are of any help when they take on the Sixers in round two.
