Cliff Dixon, a former professional basketball player and ex-boyfriend of reality star Erica Mena, was murdered outside of an Atlanta area nightclub early Thursday morning.

According to reports, Dixon and his close friends were celebrating his 32nd birthday when he was shot outside of the Little Saigon strip mall in Chamblee, Georgia. It is said that Dixon was in critical condition when the paramedics arrived and that he was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities believe that Dixon was attacked by a single gunman who fled the scene on foot. However, despite searching the crime scene with K-9 units, information is limited due to several broken surveillance cameras. The shooting appears to have taken place at Atlanta's SL Lounge.

Along with dating Love & Hip-Hop: New York's Erica Mena, Dixon was known for being a professional basketball player after being a star player at Western Kentucky University. Kevin Durant also describes the Prince George's County native as his "adopted brother" as well as having a close friendship with rapper Dave East. As a result, several people took to social media to eulogize Dixon.
