We're midway through the NFL season, and the New York Jets (3-5) are having another mediocre season at the bottom of the AFC East. But it's still a thrill for any top player to be making big bucks in the Big Apple.

Brandon Marshall has been one of the Jets' best players since he came into their fold in 2015. Since he's played for four different teams since his rookie year in 2006, Marshall probably has grown a keen intuition for when he's about to be traded. It would be understandably gutting to him to get a call from the team's management to reveal he's on his way to a city like Jacksonville or Charlotte.

When Marshall was supposed to make an appearance on CBS Sports Network's We Need To Talk show on Tuesday, he received an "emergency" call from an assistant from the Jets front office that trade rumors were swirling about the team as the 4 p.m. trade deadline approached.

"I put my head down and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm about to get traded,'" Marshall said on the show. "And he said, 'I just want to let you know, don't listen to the rumors, we're not shopping you.'" He rejoiced to learn that he was off the hook.

"I was like, 'Oh!' I was about to cry, I was literally about to cry."

Marshall stated on Sunday that he would be "disappointed" if he were traded. Ask and you shall receive—at least, if you're a millionaire pro athlete.
